Housing

The Multi Family Program and the Section 8 Program housing helps families afford housing and avoid homelessness or other kinds of instability. Some developments provide access to neighborhoods with well-resourced schools and more job opportunities, where it might otherwise be difficult for low-income families to rent homes.

The multi-family housing program is open to accepting applications at this time. You must come by the office and pick up an application and an appointment will be made at that time for you to return with the required documents needed which include; original birth certificates, social security cards, proof of income, proof of ID, etc. A credit and background check will be submitted. The Section 8 program is presently closed. Section 8 openings will only be online when available and will be posted in the county paper and different locations including, the BHA office, courthouse, library, city hall, Haywood Criminal Justice Center, post office, and Haywood County Health Department.
